The findings reveal shared values and distinct approaches advocated by Confucianism and Islam. The study explores the integration of Islamic and Confucian educational thoughts in the philosophy of Ma Lianyuan, a prominent Chinese Muslim scholar, highlighting his role in promoting the harmonious integration of Islamic teachings with Chinese cultural and intellectual traditions, particularly Confucianism. The establishment of Madrasahs, integrating traditional Islamic education with the Chinese Confucian private school and academy system, exemplifies the successful fusion of the two educational traditions. Ma Lianyuan's efforts in advocating for the simultaneous teaching of Arabic and Chinese, translating Islamic texts, and engaging in peaceful dialogue demonstrate his commitment to fostering mutual understanding between Islamic and Confucian teachings. The findings underscore the potential for developing an inclusive approach to education in a globalized world, with implications for current civilizational dialogues and the construction of harmonious ethnic and religious relations.
2024-06-30T00:00:00+08:00 Copyright (c) 2024 http://mjs.um.edu.my/index.php/quranica/article/view/53154 Analysis of Shifts in Gender and Number of Pronominal Suffixes Appended to Demonstrative Pronouns in Arabic-Amharic Translation of the Holy Qur’an 2024-06-30T23:30:04+08:00 Mohammed Miftah Zeinu miftahm84@gmail.com Dessalegn Hagos Asfawwesen dezeseze16@gmail.com Endris Mohammed Yesufe indrie_moh@yahoo.com
The main objective of this study is to analyze shifts in gender and number of pronominal suffixes appended to demonstrative pronouns in Arabic-Amharic translation of the Holy Qur’an. The study is a qualitative study with a descriptive and content analysis design. It relies on primary linguistic data. The data are obtained from the Holy Qur’an and its Amharic translation by co-translators Shaikh Sayyid Muhammad Sadiq and Haji Muhammad Thani Habib (1969). The data are extracted using purposive sampling technique. The findings of the study reveal that translating Arabic demonstrative pronouns to which pronominal suffixes are appended are of grammatically complex points to be translated into Amharic. The translators-in some instances of the Holy Qur’an- adhered to the source text to translate these demonstrative pronouns to which pronominal suffixes are appended and as a result produced unknown structures in the target text structure.
2024-06-30T00:00:00+08:00 Copyright (c) 2024 http://mjs.um.edu.my/index.php/quranica/article/view/53159 The Impact of Al-Manār School on the Exegeses of Al-Marāghī and Ibn ‘Āshūr in Addressing the Thematic Unity of the Holy Qur’an: An Analytical Comparative Study 2024-06-30T23:43:49+08:00 Waddah Alkhattb S2127292@siswa.um.edu.my Ali Ali Gobaili Saged saged@um.edu.my M.Y. Zulkifli Mohd Yusoff zulkifliy@um.edu.my
Many researchers regard the exegeses of Al-Marāghī and Ibn ‘Āshūr as two of the most important exegeses of our time. However, there are others who call for a closer study for the issues they address about the rationalist school of Sheikh Muḥammad ‘Abduh, known as the Al-Manār School, because it may confuse the reader regarding the extent of this school’s agreement with the majority of scholars. In this article, the researcher is confined to the thematic unity of the Holy Qur’an, as it is one of the traits of the aforementioned school, and the definition of the thematic unity, then presents the school’s view of this concept with its positives and negatives, and after that compares between Al-Marāghī and Ibn ‘Āshūr in terms of following this school on both positive and negative aspects of this issue.
2024-06-30T00:00:00+08:00 Copyright (c) 2024 http://mjs.um.edu.my/index.php/quranica/article/view/53161 The Concept of Moderation Considering the Qur’an and Sunnah and Its Relationship to Achieving Security and Peace 2024-06-30T23:49:12+08:00 Abdulrahman Al-Aghbari d.alaghbary2010@hotmail.com
The research aims to elucidate the concept of moderation and explain its significance in the Quran and Sunnah, along with presenting practical examples of moderation from the life of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. It aspires to guide the Muslim youth onto the right path of moderate Islam, and the "clear path" left by our Prophet ﷺ. It addresses the issue of extremism that some Muslim youths have fallen into, due to intellectual emptiness and influence by aberrant ideas, from which our religion is innocent. To clarify the pristine vision of the gentle Hanafi faith, far from the pressures and accusations of violence, bloodshed, extremism, harshness, and excess practiced by some of its followers and enemies, the researcher has chosen to cite noble verses and honourable Hadiths, followed by practical examples from the life of the Prophet ﷺ as the best guide for a moderate life,The researcher has arrived at a comprehensive understanding of moderation in Islam, detailed in the research findings. Among the most important is that it is a mercy to all worlds, calling for gentleness in everything, following a path of justice with friends and foes alike, and spreading peace among other results that must be taught to the youth,The researcher has combined three methodologies: historical, inductive, and analytical. The research findings generally and specifically achieve the intended goal.
2024-06-30T00:00:00+08:00 Copyright (c) 2024 http://mjs.um.edu.my/index.php/quranica/article/view/53162 An Analytical Study to Reveal The Identity of Pharaoh Moses -Peace Be Upon Him- Based on Evidence of Scientific Miracles in The Holy Qur’an and Conclusive Archaeological Evidence 2024-06-30T23:52:33+08:00 Assia Bennouar assiabennouar1@gmail.com
The goal of completing this research is to reveal the identity of the Pharaoh to whom the prophet Moses - peace be upon him - was sent, with Qur’anic and compelling scientific evidence that would have been impossible to know if God had not revealed them in the Qur’an; It is a historical dilemma that has generated a great controversy among scholars all over the world, including those who deny the existence of Moses in Egypt, the exodus, and the miracle of parting the sea, and those who claim his existence in the sixteenth century, because he was mentioned in the Torah and the Bible, but scientific evidence denies it. In this research, we relied on analyzing the Qur’anic evidence first, then on pure scientific evidence previously discovered, such as translating the papyri and hieroglyphs into English and Arabic; We also relied on good research by Arab and Western scholars as well. The result was unexpected, as they searched in the wrong time and the wrong place; The Pharaoh who challenged Moses - peace be upon him - was the owner of the Great Pyramid: “Pharaoh Khufu,” who ruled Egypt nearly 5,000 years ago, as it is absolutely impossible for anyone to know without inspiration from almighty God, that the minister of this Pharaoh was named “Haman” who was also the chief builder of his monuments according to the evidence found in his tomb that was recently discovered, yet our prophet Muhammad -peace be upon him- mentioned him 14 centuries ago, which confirms the prophecy of our dear Prophet and that the Holy Qur’an was -inevitably- revealed from God Almighty. This research reveals another scientific miracle of the Holy Qur’an, which on its own reveals the time of the existence of Moses -peace be upon him- and the identity of the Pharaoh who defied him, and it also corrects and confirms the period where they lived, supported by undeniable material evidence.
2024-06-30T00:00:00+08:00 Copyright (c) 2024 http://mjs.um.edu.my/index.php/quranica/article/view/53157 Psychospiritual Well-Being Through Understanding I'jaz Al-Qur'an 2024-06-30T23:39:50+08:00 Md. Razali bin Saibin abusofia@ums.edu.my Khairol Ikhwan @Mohd Fithri bin Khoza khairolikhwan@ums.edu.my
Psychospiritual well-being refers to a state of balanced and harmonious mental and spiritual health. In the context of Islamic understanding, this concept is often associated with religious practices and a deep understanding of the teachings of the Quran. I'jaz al-Quran, meaning the miracle or inimitability of the Quran, refers to the aspects that prove the Quran is a divine revelation that cannot be matched by humans. This study aims to examine how the elements of I'jaz al-Quran contribute to the psychospiritual well-being of individuals. Through qualitative analysis of Quranic verses and scholarly interpretations, this study finds that the linguistic (I’jaz Lughawi), scientific (I’jaz Ilmi), and legislative (I’jaz Tashri’i) miracles of the Quran play a significant role in strengthening individual faith and belief, thereby enhancing their psychospiritual well-being. The Quran provides comprehensive life guidance, offers peace of mind, and provides solutions to various life problems. In conclusion, I'jaz al-Quran not only affirms the authenticity, truth, and greatness of the Quran as a miracle but also serves as a primary source for achieving psychospiritual well-being in daily life.
2024-06-30T00:00:00+08:00 Copyright (c) 2024
